In 2008, Wang Gang joined Guangzhou Evergrande F.C., where he continued to perform well, winning the AFC Champions League title in 2011 and being named the league's top scorer that season. After leaving Guangzhou Evergrande, Wang Gang went on to play for Jiangsu Suning F.C. and then moved to Shanghai Shenhua F.C. in 2013.

In addition to his football achievements, Wang Gang has also been involved in various other activities outside of football. He founded a charity called "Wang Gang Foundation" which focuses on education and health issues. He has also been involved in various sports events such as the Asian Games and the World Cup.
